Rayners Lane itself runs from Marsh Road in Pinner to Eastcote Lane in South Harrow. However Rayners Lane is now a suburban district in the London Borough of Harrow. Whilst its close neighbour Pinner was a medieval hamlet and can trace their history back for centuries (find out more about old Pinner here), Rayners Lane as a district is relatively recent.
This website celebrates the humble people that gave the name to the lane in the 19th Century and that still survives today. It looks at the history of the lane, how it came to be called Rayners Lane and how it developed over the last 100 years or so.
